Business issues

  • ASIC were very keen to see the organisation have a complying Business Continuity Program that had to be proven to work (as it is with every financial institution).
  • The existing IT infrastructure was out-of-date and not performing to meet the business requirements.
  • The IT staff were not qualified and had not been able to align the IT offerings to the business requirements.
  • There were also no ITIL “Best Practice” processes in place to ensure that processes were being done in the best and most efficient way.

The solution NST provided was as follows:

  • An IT infrastructure study was undertaken and report produced. There was no initial commitment from the customer beyond this study
  • NST was commissioned to remediate the problems
  • NST was commissioned to undertake a Business Continuity study and produce a report which proved there was a shortfall against business requirements
  • NST was engaged to implement a full ITIL Business Continuity Plan
  • NST conducts on going BCP test with recovery within 4 hours
  • NST’s Service Desk was engaged to undertake the ongoing management of the IT operations
  • Ongoing engagement with the business now occurs to ensure IT systems are aligned with business needs
  • The costs of running  IT has reduced significantly whilst performance and business services have increased dramatically
